FAQ
Can I use your art?
Yes, I most always agree to the use of my work for non-profits, dance studios/companies, and many other organizations. BUT, you must contact me first, tell me a little about yourself, your organization and your specific needs/intentions. Translation: the basic rules of courtesy apply. You ask, and I say yes. You do not ask and I contact your ISP. In all cases the following applies:
-
please, make no modifications to the image other than proportional resizing.
-
do not link directly to the images on my site. This takes my bandwidth & slows it down for viewers on your site as well. Instead, right click, copy to your hard drive & upload it to your own server.
-
You must have a "©john w. horne, dancartist" on any page where you display my art.
-
Lastly...often you will find it a good idea to keep the Artist you're borrowing from happy - here, I'll be a very happy artist when you place a link back to my galleries from your site. Link to

Can I use your art for other purposes?
As long as it's for your personal enjoyment I don't mind at all. If it's not, please email me and I'll be happy to discuss possibilities with you.
What do you paint with?
Ink & gouache on rice paper, watercolor, pastels, pencil, pen and
ink washes...
What's the usual sizes of your work?
Size depends on spatial requirements dictated by the piece I'm
creating, the way the paper tears and finally frames and mattes. My work averages between 16"x20" & 22"x30".
I would like to know about updates - do you have a mailing list?
Sure. Just
click
here and sign up for my monthly newsletter. I make sure to keep people on the list informed of all the current projects I'm working on, and when they will be available for public. You can leave the list at any time, and there's only one mail a month with the latest news
Do you work with Dance Companies or other non profits?
Sure, as often as possible. Actually, I also provide a column based on what it takes to start your own Arts Business for
DanceArt.com. I get asked questions about my work, how to fundraise, build audiences, create multi-disciplinary events and how to best market your work, quite regularly. The column at DanceArt addresses much of this. The rest? Well, send me an email and if I can help, or point you in the right direction, I will try to do so.
Do you provide personal information for local or regional schools, and print media?
I'd be flattered, request what you need....
